Yup, there's some fine collectors items out there, linked to some of the best of stupid on ebay I found above. Makes the comic book seem like a much better choice for a piece of history! Maybe someday I'll give it a read though I don't think I want one for my kids to tear apart and scribble on, which they will undoubtedly find a way to do! I'll have to see if I can find a PDF version online to check out.

We went up to 38 degrees yesterday for the first time after a week, just to come back to 8 degrees today...perfect to make all the snow melt into nice mini ice skating rinks everywhere! :)

That's great on the weather. i'm actually going to add a second weather image when it hit 30 below zero a few hours later, and it's still dropping...

Anyway, great to hear from you Chelle. But that's the double edged sword of the Obama thing; the strange commercial motives of people producing stuff about a president for people wanting to have some sort of collectors item for the once in a lifetime aspect of Black guy being elected. Money/history.

Now back to the comic book; did I mention that most of the issue was written by Mark Waid and drawn by Barry Kitson? 2 of my favorites.

It's cold here also...we're a balmy -20 degrees!

I am sick of all the propaganda too, it really makes you wonder what it says about our country when we commercially exploit our leaders just to make a buck or two.

To guarantee future presidents are elected by the people and the electoral college in no uncertain terms, consider this . . .

The National Popular Vote bill would guarantee the Presidency to the candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC).

Every vote would be politically relevant and equal in presidential elections.

The bill would take effect only when enacted, in identical form, by states possessing a majority of the electoral votes—that is, enough electoral votes to elect a President (270 of 538). When the bill comes into effect, all the electoral votes from those states would be awarded to the presidential candidate who receives the most popular votes in all 50 states (and DC).

The bill is currently endorsed by 1,246 state legislators — 460 sponsors (in 48 states) and an additional 786 legislators who have cast recorded votes in favor of the bill.

The National Popular Vote bill has passed 22 state legislative chambers, including one house in Arkansas, Colorado, Maine, Michigan, North Carolina, and Washington, and both houses in California, Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont. The bill has been enacted by Hawaii, Illinois, New Jersey, and Maryland. These four states possess 50 electoral votes — 19% of the 270 necessary to bring the law into effect.
